8 WAYS YOU CAN MAKE TIME FOR YOURSELF

  • Post author:

We all know how important it is to take some time for ourselves every now and then, but with our busy schedules, it can be tough to find the time. But it’s so important. We need time to relax and recharge, or we’ll just end up burnt out.

And that’s especially true for moms. We’re constantly juggling kids, work, housework, and everything else, and it’s easy to let ourselves get overwhelmed. But if we don’t take care of ourselves, we won’t be able to take care of anything else.

Here are 8 tips to help you make time for some well-deserved me-time. Whether it’s taking a few minutes for yourself in the morning or scheduling a girls’ night out, these tips will help you fit some much-needed me-time into your busy days.

1. Get up earlier

If you can swing it, getting up even just 30 minutes earlier can give you some time to yourself before the craziness of the day begins. Use this time to do something that makes you feel good, whether it’s reading, meditating, or just stretching and enjoying the quiet.

2. Go to bed later

If mornings aren’t your thing, try going to bed 30 minutes later and use that time for yourself. You can catch up on some reading, write in your journal, or just relax with a cup of tea.

3. Set aside some time each day

Dedicate at least 15-30 minutes each day to doing something just for you. This can be anything from taking a walk, taking a yoga class, or even just sitting outside with a cup of coffee.

4. Take advantage of nap time

If you have young kids, use their nap time to your advantage and take some time for yourself. Even if it’s just 30 minutes, you’ll be surprised how much better you’ll feel after some self-care.

5. Carve out some time on the weekends

If you’re feeling especially drained during the week, try reserving a few hours on the weekends for yourself. This can be time for relaxing, catching up on housework, or even just taking a long bath.

6. Delegate and accept help

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, don’t be afraid to ask for help. Whether it’s from your partner, friends, or family, there’s no shame in accepting a little assistance.

7. Find a babysitter or trade childcare with a friend

If you’re a parent, one of the best ways to make time for yourself is to find a babysitter or trade childcare with a friend. This way, you can have a few hours to yourself while someone else watches your kids.

8. Make the most of small moments

If you can’t find a large chunk of time for yourself, try to make the most of small moments. Take a break to read a few pages of your book while your kids are playing or sneak in a quick workout during your lunch break.

Taking some time for yourself is so important, and I hope these tips have helped you see that it’s possible to find a little me-time on even the busiest of days. Whether you take a few minutes each morning or schedule an occasional girls’ night out, make sure to fit in some time just for you. You deserve it!
